Nebular Cross

Building an application for multiple platforms traditionally means maintaining multiple codebases — one implementation gets duplicated, platform-specific quirks creep in, and the same feature has to be built (and later fixed) more than once. The client wanted a framework that could give developers a single development foundation to build modern applications from, instead of starting each platform from scratch.

BAMS was tasked with engineering a cross-platform application development framework: one that reduces duplicated development effort, gives developers a shared, reusable foundation to build from, and supports modern application architecture without forcing a separate codebase per platform.

BAMS engineered Nebular Cross from the ground up as a cross-platform application framework — a shared application layer that developers build against once, rather than re-implementing the same logic per platform. Alongside the framework itself, BAMS wrote documentation clean and complete enough to make onboarding a new engineer onto the framework straightforward, not something that required tribal knowledge to pick up.

BAMS was responsible for the framework's architecture and core engineering, end to end — designing the shared application layer, building the framework's reusable components, and writing the developer documentation needed to onboard new engineers onto it.

The framework follows a simple architectural principle: One Codebase → Shared Application Architecture → Platform-Specific Output. Rather than treating each target platform as its own project, Nebular Cross gives developers one foundation to build the application logic against once, reducing the duplicated effort and inconsistency that comes from maintaining parallel, platform-specific codebases.

Nebular Cross gave the client a reusable engineering foundation instead of a single-purpose application — a framework designed to reduce duplicated development effort and give developers a consistent starting point for building modern, cross-platform applications going forward.
